Six detained for attacking lawyer

JAKARTA: South Jakarta Police detained on Wednesday six people
for attacking lawyer Petrus Balla Pattyona in the courtroom.

South Jakarta District Court spokesman Johanes Suhadi said
that the six were probably thugs hired by the lawyer of the
opposing party in the case.

"The police are still interrogating them," he said.

Petrus was admitted to the hospital.

Johannes said that although the court placed four guards at
each court room, "we can't guard every lawyer ... Lawyers should
not bring too many supporters into the courtroom because it could
cause a riot." -- JP
