Six countries join Bali billiard meet
JAKARTA: Billiard participants from six Asian countries are taking part in the A Mild Billiard Bali Open Tournament 2003, which began in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, according to a report.
Malaysia, India, Singapore and Vietnam have three players each while L. Corteza is the sole Philippines' contender in the Asian Pocket Billiard Union (APBU)-sanctioned tournament, which will run until Saturday at the Paradiso Billiard.
Indonesia is fielding 23 players, three of whom are past champions. Five gained entry to the tournament after putting on good performances in the earlier 2003 events sanctioned by the Indonesian Billiard & Snooker Association (Pobsi).
Four of the 23 come from Pobsi's Bali chapter, while the remaining 11 were selected from other provincial chapters, which have one participant in the competition apiece. --JP
