Six contractors win water pipeline job
JAKARTA (JP): Six local contractors have won a contract worth about Rp 7 billion (US$636,000) for the extension of the water distribution network in the western half of Jakarta.
The contract, which is expected to be completed within six months, was awarded to the six contractors by Indonesian-French tap water joint venture PT Palyja on Sept. 30, Bernard Lafrogne, one of the firm's representatives said in a statement on Monday.
"The contractors were selected from more than 150 companies, following a prequalification process and a competitive tendering process," he said.
Other network extension phases are expected to be launched early next year through competitive tenders, he said.
Bernard said the work was part of Palyja's project to install a 13-kilometer pipeline aimed at improving tap water services to customers in the western part of the capital. (hhr)
