Siti Amelia Jakarta queen

Siti Amelia has been chosen as the Jakarta Putri Ayu Queen
1994, defeating 14 other finalists.

The Suara Pembaruan evening daily reported yesterday that the
first and second runners-up at competition held by the Putri Ayu
foundation will be, respectively, Shinta Ruswita and Suci Kuniati
Sujud.

Mrs. Martha Tilaar, chair of the foundation, said that this
year's competition involved 38 participants, including a female
police officer, university students as well as female employees
and secretaries of private firms.

She said that Siti Amelia will take home a prize worth Rp 1
million (US$454.5), while Shinta and Susi will receive Rp 800,000
and Rp 500,000, respectively. (hhr)
