Sisindosat plans expansion
JAKARTA (JP): PT Sisindosat Lintasbuana, a subsidiary of PT Indosat, plans to become a multimedia content provider rather than just providing telecommunications and information technology services as it does at present.
"Multimedia related to business representation, education and entertainment is expanding rapidly in Indonesia," Sisindosat's president, A.M. Suseto, said.
Sisindosat also signed an agreement with PT Microsoft Indonesia last week to act as its solution provider, authorized technical education center and authorized training center.
Microsoft Indonesia's president, Andy B.T. Khoo, said that his company would appoint only a select few distributors as corporate partners.
In addition to Sisindosat, Microsoft Indonesia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the multinational computer software company Microsoft Corporation of the United States, has recently selected two other authorized retail distributors, PT Tech Pacific Indonesia and PT Sistech Kharisma.
Sisindosat was established in April 1990 by Indosat and several other domestic companies to supply telecommunications and information technology services. (icn)
