The government will start to implement a single sign-on and a single submission for businessmen with real time data early next year.
NSW technical team chief Susiwiyono Mugiharso said Monday the single sign-on and single submission systems were part of the next government’s first 100 days of work.
“Hopefully, we can pursue [the implementation] within 100 days. [The implementation] will be conducted between the portals of the National Single Window [NSW] office, the Excise and Customs Office and the BPOM [Drug and Food Monitoring Agency],” he said.
Once the single sign-on system is effective, each exporter and importer will have one user ID and password to access all portals they are related to, he said.
He said human error could be minimized with the single sign-on and single submission systems.
The single sign-on and single submission concepts, under the frame of the government’s national single window (NSW) scheme, require exporters and importers to register only with and only submit one document to the NSW portal, www.insw.go.id, to process all necessary business permits on internet base.
This portal will simultaneously forward exporters and importers’ documents to other related government institutions.
First introduced in December in 2007 at Jakarta's Tanjung Priok Port, the NSW scheme is designed to reduce the time for importers to be cleared to receive goods to a maximum of 7.5 hours.
Before the scheme, importers had to wait several days to receive clearance. It was slated to increase flow of imported goods and reduce corruption.
