Singaporean held for disturbance
JAKARTA (JP): A drunken Singaporean was arrested yesterday by
Penjaringan police in North Jakarta for alleged disorderly
conduct in a discotheque.
Tan Eng, 35, was heavily drunk when he entered the Top Hit
discotheque at around 1 a.m., said Capt. Bayu from the Jakarta
Police information unit.
"A preliminary investigation revealed that the Singaporean
went into the discotheque along with his friend, Cheng Sun I, 31,
a Taiwanese, after having a massage on the second floor of the
building," Bayu said.
Shortly after entering the discotheque, Tan shouted loudly,
complaining about his missing handphone, said the officer.
When a guard at the discotheque, Suwardi, came to help him,
Tan kicked a table, angering the guard. "The two then became
involved in a fight," Bayu said.
Minutes later, a waiter, Asep, found the handphone lying on a
table.
The foreigner was then arrested and charged with creating a
disturbance at the discotheque, Bayu said. (bsr)
