Siblings arrested for drug possession

BANDUNG, West Java: Police arrested a man and his 17-year-old
brother here early on Thursday for possessing 235 kilograms of
marijuana.

Local police chief Supt. H. Gultom said that the police made
the arrest after they were tipped off by the siblings' neighbors,
who claimed the two had been storing marijuana in their house in
Antapani, East Bandung.

The preliminary investigation, police said, suggested that the
marijuana might have been smuggled from Aceh as it was wrapped in
the troubled province's newspaper.

Police also said that the two suspects, identified as
Kamaruddin and Munir, had tried to escape the raid, but to no
avail as the house had been surrounded by the police. (25)
