Shuttlers stage fund raising match

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's top badminton players will team up
with noted celebrities in a fund-raising event to raise money for
victims of natural disasters.

"We will show our concern for the needy people throughout the
country by staging an exhibition badminton event," organizing
committee chairman and men's doubles player Sigit Budiarto told
reporters on Monday.

"We will hand over all profits from ticket sales and racket
auctions to them."

The exhibition matches will take place on Feb. 24 at the
Manggala Siliwangi indoor tennis stadium in Bandung.

Taufik Hidayat, Candra Wijaya, Tony Gunawan, Ricky Subagja and
Flandy Limpele are among the shuttlers who will be participating
along side music group PADI and Project P. (nvn)
