Shooting range in Malang praised

MALANG, East Java: The Brawijaya Military Command has the best
shooting range in the country, commander Maj.Gen. Ryamizard
Ryacudu said on Tuesday.

Antara reported that he was officially opening the new
facility in Bedali village, Lawang district.

The facility has a 6,700-square-meter pistol shooting range
and a 68,750-square-meter rifle shooting range, the news agency
reported.

Ryamizard said the Indonesian Military (TNI) had been kept
busy with various activities outside its defense function, "which
has led to the declining professionalism in soldiers' skills".

"To restore the image of TNI soldiers, which has recently been
seen in a negative light, let us try to neutralize (the image) by
making the best of programs to improve skills," the commander
said.
