Shock therapy needed for gamblers

SEMARANG, Central Java: A councillor at the Central Java Provincial Council demanded on Thursday that law enforcers be more firm with gamblers, and if necessary execute them without a trial.

There has to be shock therapy in order to deter the gamblers and put to an end the numerous gambling dens in the province, said councillor Hadi Pranoto.

He expressed concern that law enforcers, especially police personnel, had no courage to combat gambling in Central Java. -- JP
