Sheraton has a facelift
YOGYAKARTA: The five-star Sheraton Mustika Yogyakarta Resort & Spa, a property of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts chain, is renovating its Grand Ballroom, lobby and 100 of its guest rooms as part of Starwood's grand plan to improve in line with international standards.
According to Sheraton Mustika's PR Manager Bambang WS, the renovation of the hotel's lobby and Grand Ballroom that started this month is scheduled to finish in November 2003, while the 100 guest rooms are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
"We finished renovating another 100 guest rooms last year," Bambang said.
All of the hotel's 214 rooms will have a more "harmonious" interior design, combining contemporary and traditional style.
The lobby's renovation is also to give a new atmosphere of simplicity in the Javanese traditional culture, which is always maintained by the hotel management, including the way the hotel will greet its guests.
"During the renovation, the guests can check in and check out as usual. The front desk and the concierge desk were temporarily moved to the eastern part of the hotel's lobby," Bambang said. -- JP
