Shelby production in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Shelby, the name behind classic American sports cars like the Cobra, is to be revived in Malaysia.

A joint venture between U.S., Japanese and Malaysian partners plan to reproduce five Shelby models with production beginning next year.

According to Ward's Automotive, United Shelby Sdn Bhd will invest nearly US$135 million in producing the cars to export to the U.S., Japan and Europe.

The Cobra, Daytona Cobra, GT40, GTSV8 and GTSV12 will be priced between $90,000 and $100,000.
