Share prices on JSX fall to new low
JAKARTA (JP): Share prices on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) continued drifting lower yesterday with most issues loosing ground in heavy trading.
The JSX composite Index closed 7.11 points lower to end at 454.08, as compared to 461.2 on Thursday. Yesterday's index was the lowest since August last year.
The narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index also closed lower at 105.94 from 107.74.
Top losers were, among others, Metro Supermarket Realty (down Rp 2,200), Sepanjang Surya Gas (down Rp 1,875), Indosemen (down Rp 1,000), Modern Photo (down Rp 500), Gudang Garam (down Rp 400), Indocement and Mayora (down Rp 350 each), Putra Surya Perkasa and Maskapai Reasuransi Indonesia (down Rp 300 each) and HM Sampoerna (down Rp 250).
Trading volume sank to 24.51 million shares valued at Rp 96.19 billion yesterday from 35.16 million shares worth Rp 112.43 billion on Thursday.
Of yesterday's total trading volume, 14.65 million shares changed hands at Rp 50.29 billion on the regular market, 1.3 million shares at Rp 8.71 billion on the bloc sale board, eight million shares at Rp 34.54 billion on the cross trading board and 509,000 shares at Rp 2.45 billion on the foreign trading board.
There were only 350 shares traded at Rp 550,000 on the odd lot board and 52,500 shares at Rp 184.94 million on the cash trading board. (icn)
