Share love between living beings

From Neraca

"It's strange, in a country as civilized as Japan there are still people that enjoy watching an organized cooking contest such as that," said upik (a little girl), when watching on TV a live fish being sliced into thin pieces until only the bones, tail and head squirmed on a plate as decoration. Unable to endure the scene, upik changed the channel.

Cooks usually skin a chicken or fish when its dead. It's hard to cut a goat while it is still alive to make satay, as the animal's whines attract a crowd.

The show was opposite to a Japanese family I saw on an environmental show. When a pair of wild geese and their children cross a highway, the traffic stops and the geese are greeted by the press and TV crew like guests of honor.

Once a wild duck was flying around with an arrow stuck in its side. Animal lovers in America or Canada immediately started searching for it. The show said they saved the duck. Their joy was surely a beautiful gift they never forgot.

It would be even more beautiful, if man didn't hurt other living beings, upik said.
