Shangri-La opens gingerbread house
For the Hotel Shangri-La Jakarta, a gingerbread house is a holiday must.
At four meters high, the gingerbread house -- along with a mannequin Santa -- welcomes all guests from its site in the lobby lounge. The creation was made by kitchen artist team I Nyoman Sukardji and Herry Pujiantoro, as well as executive pastry chef Frank Braun.
The three used 96 kilograms of honey, 72 kilograms of sugar, 600 grams of cinnamon, 200 kilograms of flour, 24 liters of milk, 600 eggs and three days to construct this homey, sweet cottage.
