Shaman socks it to nervy Sulistyo

JAKARTA (JP): There are so many ways to build confidence
before playing a match. One of Indonesia's male tennis players,
Sulistyo Wibowo, is convinced that if he wears different colored
socks, he will win his opening match today.

Sulistyo, the brother of the women's team member Liza
Andriyani, wore a white sock on his left foot and a black one on
his right leg while watching the men's match between Thailand and
Malaysia.

"The black one should be on the right foot. If I wear them the
other way round, I may lose tomorrow," he said smiling, adding
that his shaman had suggested this before the tournament to calm
his nerves.

But after his curious attire was noticed by the crowd,
Sulistyo took off his socks and sneakers and changed into leather
shoes. (yan)
