Seven killed in road accident
SITUBONDO, East Java: Police have established "human error" as the cause of a traffic accident which killed seven people here Saturday.
Local police chief Lt. Col. Suharto said on Sunday that 18- year-old Sugeng Haryanto, the driver of a truck involved in the accident, did not have a driving license, while the vehicle itself was also in poor condition.
The truck collided with a horse-drawn wagon loaded with local villagers on their way to attend an independence day festival.
The bodies of the victims in the accident, which took place in Klatakan, a village in the Panarukan sub-district, have been claimed by their relatives, Suharto told the Antara news agency. (swe)
