Settlers killed in C. Kalimantan
PANGKALAN BUN, Central Kalimantan: Attacks on Madurese migrants continued when an elderly couple was found hacked and speared to death and their home in the village of Pasir Panjang burned.
Tawi, 70, and his wife Masriah, 60, were found dead after the attack on Friday morning.
Two of their children, Pasimin and Sopiah, managed to escape during the attack by a group of unknown men.
Police were still investigating the attack over the weekend.
"We still can't say who the attackers were, we are still investigating," West Kota Waringin Police chief Ajd. Comm. Husni Rifa'i told journalists.
Unlike recent attacks against settlers, the victims were not beheaded. (32)
