Senior citizen dies after fire

PEKANBARU, Riau: A fire burned 10 houses on Jl. Nuri in the city of Pekanbaru on Saturday and one 80-year-old woman was killed in the blaze.

A witness said that the fire started at around 10 a.m in the house of Dwi Budi, 30, and quickly spread to other houses in the area.

All the residents except Rasiah, 80, were able to escape, as she was reportedly too ill to move on her own. -- JP
