Senawangi, Kopaja collaborate
JAKARTA (JP): Kopaja, a cooperative of privately-managed city
buses, joined hands yesterday with PT Senawangi Wisamarta Utama,
a subsidiary of the Humpuss Group, to boost technology transfers
and professionalism.
Chairman of Kopaja, C.H. Soenarto, after signing the
memorandum of understanding yesterday, said the project would
require Senawangi to manage 100 new Kopaja buses.
Ongki P. Sumarno, the president of Senawangi, said his company
would assist cooperative members who would own the buses in the
long run.
"Apart from managerial training, we will also provide them
with facilities such as workshops, storehouses and even drivers,"
he said, adding that Senawangi already has joint operations with
the PPD city bus company.
Kopaja currently owns 1,485 buses operating in Greater
Jakarta. (pwn)
