Seminar on mining, energy

JAKARTA (JP): Bimasena, the mining and energy society, will
hold a conference in Jakarta on July 10-12 to discuss investment
opportunities in the country's mining and energy sector.

The institution said over the weekend that topics to be
discussed at the conference would include upstream/downstream
industries in the mining sector, LNG plant and investment
opportunities in oil and gas.

Some prominent local speakers are expected to present their
views, such as Minister of Mines and Energy Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono, Minister of Defense Yuwono Sudarsono, Coordinating
Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry Kwik Kian Gie and
Minister of Laws Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mahatir Muhammad and former
Singaporean prime minister Lee Kuan Yew have also been invited to
review significant topics, the organizer said. (07)
