Seminar on infrastructure

JAKARTA (JP): A seminar on the importance of infrastructure development in Indonesia will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel on Thursday to discuss the need for increased participation of the private sector.

Asian business intelligence provider, Strategic Intelligence, along with the Center for Technical and Industrial Development (CTID) and the Indonesian Transport Society (MTI) will jointly organize the seminar.

J. Scott Younger, the chairman of Strategic Intelligence, said that the government's target to achieve the economic growth rate of between 6 percent and 7 percent would be impossible unless the development of infrastructure in Indonesia is speeded up.

The seminar will feature the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Rizal Ramli as the keynote speaker, and prominent figures such as the Minister of Settlement and Regional Infrastructure Erna Witular, economist Sri Mulyani and political observer Andi A. Mallarangeng as speakers. (tnt)
