Seminar and expo on education

JAKARTA: The Ministry of Education and Culture and a German
firm of education consultants, GTZ, will hold a seminar and
exhibition on vocational education and training from June 24 to
June 28.

Malaysia, Germany, Chile, India, South Africa, Thailand,
Philippine, Singapore and Pakistan are expected to send delegates
who will discuss the "link and match" approach to education.

This concept tries to match school curriculum with the skills
needed by industry.

Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro
introduced the link and match concept four years ago to respond
to industries' complaints about poor education.

The exhibition on education will be held on the sidelines of
the seminar. (11)
