Semen Cibinong gets ISO

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed cement company PT Semen Cibinong received on Wednesday an ISO 14,001 certificate for its environmental management system from the Societe Generale de Surveillance International Certification Services (SGS-ICS) Indonesia.

Semen Cibinong said in a statement that it became the first national cement company to receive such an ISO certificate from an international certification body.

"The certificate stands as an international recognition to our environmental management system," Hashim S. Djojohadikusumo, chairman of Semen Cibinong, said in the statement.

SGS-ICS Indonesia certified two cement factories of Semen Cibinong, located in Narogong West Java and Cilacap Central Java.

The cement company has an annual production capacity of 9.7 million metric tons and employees around 2,700 workers, the statement said. (03)
