Security officers get food donation
JAKARTA (JP): A group of local celebrities and staffers of Panji Masyarakat magazine visited on Thursday evening the security officers stationed at the House of Representatives building complex, the National Monument Park and Surapati Park in Central Jakarta.
During the visits, they handed over some packages of food for breaking of the fast, and sang and danced with the soldiers who had been stationed there over the last few months.
The magazine's general manager, Bambang Wiwoho, said that the visit was aimed at reducing the communication gap between the Armed Forces members and the general public.
Maj. Agus Sutomo, the commander in charge of security in the luxurious Menteng district, expressed his gratitude over the support given by the visitors.
"This is proof that we are not alone in doing our duty. There are people who still love us and try to break the ice," he said.
Also present during the visit were artists Ingrid Widjarnako and Peggy Melati Sukma and dangdut singers Machica Mochtar and Vinny Alvionita, Antara reported. (ivy)
