SURABAYA, East Java: The sea route to Bali between the ports of Ketapang Banyuwangi and Gilimanuk in Bali will be closed on April 4 for 24 hours to respect the Hindu Day of Silence, observed by most Balinese, Antara reported on Friday.

An official at the Ketapang port said the annual closure is scheduled from 6 a.m.

"One day before the celebration, many people will leave Gilimanuk to Ketapang," Karngun Sedono of the transportation company, said.
