School vacation and traffic

From Media Indonesia

My job requires me to travel about Jakarta on the toll-roads and the small streets of the villages. I enjoy my work provided the traffic is smooth. However, traffic jams have always made me uncomfortable.

I found that during the long school vacation, the traffic was smooth and convenient. It seems that school days are a factor in traffic congestion because many private vehicles or family cars travel the roads and take up space during rush hours.

The authorities should think over the matter and try to overcome the problem of congestion. The role of school buses needs to be enhanced by intensifying their use and consistently keeping them to their designated routes.
