Scholarships for Bandung students

BANDUNG: Telecommunications company PT Nynex Indonesia has awarded US$25,000 in scholarships to Bandung Institute of Technology and the Institute of Telecommunications Technology.

The vice president of Asia/Pacific Bell Atlantic, John Lack, on behalf of PT Nynex Indonesia, said in the award ceremony last week that the scholarship fund "demonstrates a clear commitment from Bell Atlantic Foundation to assist local communities".

The foundation is the parent company of PT Nynex Indonesia.

The scholarship was initiated in 1996, with already 19 graduates of the scheme.

Interested students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.75, participate in extracurricular activities and be in financial need.
