Scholars exchange knowledge

JAKARTA: Academics from the Malaysia Sabah University (UMS) and the Jakarta State University (UNJ) are to conduct exchanges of knowledge and expertise among themselves and their students.

UNJ rector Sutjipto and UMS deputy rector Abu Hassan Othman signed a memorandum of understanding on the issue between both universities over the weekend.

The five-year cooperation agreement, which runs from 2003 to 2008, is intended to improve the quality of both universities.

Scholars will exchange the results of their research in science and technology and jointly stage an international science conference on culture and sport.

Beside the UMS, UNJ also collaborates with universities from Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, France and Australia. -- Antara
