Schneider, BPPT sign deal

JAKARTA (JP): Electrical controls and equipment manufacturer PT Schneider Indonesia signed an agreement on Thursday with the Agency for Research and Application of Technology (BPPT) to provide technology for the processing of palm oil.

The agreement was signed by BPPT's director for research and application of information technology and electronics Sulistyo and Schneider's managing director Eddy Tjahja.

Eddy said that the technology provided by Schneider will ensure the correct boiling point in the processing of palm oil in order to optimize results.

"Incorrect temperatures in manual processing results in a lesser amount of palm oil," he said in a statement.

Eddy hoped the cooperation in BPPT's research project will increase the production quality of Indonesia's agribusiness products.

Schneider Indonesia is a subsidiary of French Schneider Electric, SA, comprising product brands such as Merlin Gerin, Modicon, Square D and Telemecanique. (tnt)
