SCB opens new banking center

JAKARTA (JP): Standard Chartered Bank opened on Wednesday its second Automated Banking Center in the country in Pondok Indah Mall, South Jakarta.

The center follows one opened in September in Kelapa Gading Mall, North Jakarta, the bank said in a statement.

The center, known by its abbreviation ABC, offers a wide range of banking services, including ATM and phone banking.

A touch-screen kiosk keeps customers updated on information such as exchange rates and provides details of the bank's other products, it said.

Standard Chartered, which started operation in Indonesia in 1863, has branches in Medan, North Sumatra; Bandung, West Java; Surabaya, East Java, and Semarang, Central Java. (das)
