SCB inaugurates branch

JAKARTA (JP): London-based Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) officially inaugurated on Thursday its newly renovated branch in Medan, North Sumatra.

SCB's Head of Consumer Banking Indonesia Farhad Irani said that SCB's investment in Medan reflected the bank's commitment to Indonesia and to Medan in particular during the current turbulent times.

"Our new world-class premises complements our innovative products and responsive staff to bring the best in banking to the people of Medan. Our recent surveys show that SCB is perceived as the best consumer bank in the city," Irani said.

He said that the Medan office featured a state-of-the-art customer service lobby, a priority banking center and a 24-hour automatic banking center.

SCB has been operating in Medan since 1991, proving consumer banking, corporate banking, and treasury services to consumers in Medan. It has been in Indonesia for 135 years and has five branches in the country. (gis)
