Scavenger found dead after fight

JAKARTA (JP): A 40-year-old scavenger was found dead on a roadside in Kampung Bekasi Kaum, Bekasi yesterday with stab wounds to his body.

A police officer of the East Bekasi Police Subprecinct, who requested anonymity, said the victim, Asep, was believed to have been involved in a fight with another scavenger before his death.

The motive behind the killing is unclear, he said, declining to give details.

Asep's body was sent to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Tjetjep D.S., a forensic expert at the hospital, said that stab wounds were found on his right chest and both of his hands. (ivy)
