SBY to inaugurate judicial commission
JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to install the seven members of the Judicial Commission this week, according to a minister.
"I'm certain that there will be an inauguration very soon," State Secretary Yusril Ihza Mahendra said on Saturday.
The long-awaited Judicial Commission will be mandated to supervise the performance of the country's court system, which critics said have long accused of being tarnished by corruption.
The House has selected legal experts Zaenal Arifin, Tohir Saimima, Irawady Yunus, Hata Marasit, Mohammad Busro Mukadas, Mustofa Abdullah and Sukotjo Suparto to the commission. -- JP
