Save water, every drop counts

I would like to share with your readers the following helpful hints to save water, hoping they will want to pass them on to their family and household staff.

Adjust your cistern floater to three fourths normal level.

Tell your driver or household helper to wash the car using a bucket of water, not a hose; once every four to five days, not every day.

Wait for larger wash loads before starting the washing machine.

Fix leaky taps and leaky cisterns.

Have shorter showers, and shallower baths.

Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.

Start a "water bank account" -- get a spare water tank; fill it up with water for "these not rainy days".

Act now, don't wait until the wells dry up.

Thank you for your attention. I hope you find these worthwhile sharing. Also, in view of air pollution due to the forest fires, I would like to add that households should refrain from burning their rubbish.
