Satelindo's service a disappointment

I subscribe to Satelindo -- GSM No. 0816 895 379 -- and used to pay my bills without fail through Exim Bank.

As recommended by Satelindo, however, I have changed my cash payment system to direct debiting through my Citibank Visa. I signed the authorization form for this purpose at Arta Graha Bank's customer service on Oct. 18, 1997.

Since then my Citibank Visa account has been debited monthly and it appears on my billing statement as: Satelindo SOF! 167 === JAKA 1D.

Satelindo has also sent a summary of the invoice, stating that my credit card will be directly debited. There have never been any problems with my credit card and the credit ceiling is high enough to allow payment for Satelindo bills.

However, during the Christmas holiday my telephone number was suspended and a recorded message stated "at the request of the subscriber this number cannot be contacted". (The line is still suspended as I write this letter).

I immediately contacted Satelindo's customer service number 533 1881 and also 222. I tried several times and was put through to voice mail because no customer service officers could respond to my call.

Although I left messages several times requesting that I be contacted, Satelindo did not seem to make any efforts to contact me, let alone lift the suspension.

Finally, on Jan. 2, 1998 I managed to talk with a customer service officer, who identified herself as Cory. After listening to my story, she suggested that I call Diana -- 533 1993 ext. 465. Cory was not in a position to handle my complaint, so what is customer service for?

I tried to contact Diana but I only got a voice mail message. After trying to contact this person many times, I finally talked with someone who identified herself as Fitri. Again I told her my complaint and begged Satelindo (in this case Diana) to contact me on the same day.

Until now there has never been any effort on the part of Satelindo to contact me. I am disappointed with the working style of Satelindo, which has arbitrarily suspended my line although it still debited my credit card.

What compensation will be given to me? Why is Satelindo so reluctant to reply to a messages left on its voice mail facility?
