Satelindo's billing cycle

JAKARTA (JP): PT Satelindo, operator of Global System for Mobile communications, announced Saturday it has changed its billing cycle.

The company's customer care division head, Tommy Singgih, said the new billing cycle has been effective since January 1 this year.

"The new system is an improvement of our service, so that it will be more consistent and clear," Tommy said Thursday at the company's breaking of the fast ceremony.

The new billing cycle includes a new feature called soft blocking, in which customers cannot make any phone calls but can only receive calls.

It also reduces the days of the grace period to 15 days from when the billing cycle starts -- when the company sends the bills -- from 20 days previously.

On the 45th day after bills are sent, users accounts will be completely blocked if they have not paid their amounts due.

The final notice will be sent on the 47th day after the bill is sent, and the account will finally be deleted 60 days after the billing cycle began.

Satelindo now has 450,000 users in the country. (das)
