Sari Husada enters Iran

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed PT Sari Husada has exported 7.5 million cans of its Nini brand formula to Iran, the company announced on Tuesday.

The shipment was formally shipped by the Yogyakarta-based company on Tuesday from the Tanjung Mas Semarang Seaport in Central Java. The ceremony was attended by Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X.

Sari Husada president Dwiyatno Siswosumarto said his company's alliance with Netherlands-based Nutricia International BV, a subsidiary of Europe's largest baby food producer Royal NUMICO NV, had helped in it successfully exporting internationally.

The company will soon also export formula to other Middle Eastern countries, South Asia and Southeastern Asia, he said, adding it was also participating in a tender offer by the United Nations to provide milk for children in Iraq. (23/das)
