Santika to manage Ambarrukmo hotel

YOGYAKARTA: PT Grahawita Santika, the managing company of Santika hotel chain, is to manage the newly renovated Ambarrukmo Palace Hotel under the name Graha Santika Ambarrukmo Hotel.

The confirmation about the new management came earlier this week following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PT Grahawita Santika and PT Putera Mataram Indah Wisata that oversees the property during a dinner reception here at Santika Jogja hotel.

A release made available to The Jakarta Post revealed that under the new management, the 220 room hotel has been renovated while maintaining the historical elements including the mosaic decoration created by former RI president Sukarno and the Javanese-style hall, or pendopo as it is locally known.

Occupying some four hectares of land on Jl. Laksda Adisucipto, Graha Santika Ambarrukmo is to be refurbished as a four-star city resort hotel. The renovation is scheduled to be completed in 18 months and the hotel will start operating in mid 2006. -- JP
