Sanction needed for KPU

From Bisnis Indonesia

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has not done its job well, as is evident in the poor logistics distribution and the poor quality of the ink used in the presidential election. Besides, it is also responsible for the validity of ballot papers that have been punctured all the way through, that is, from the top layer to the bottom.

The KPU is made up of reputable intellectuals, but they seem to have been very sloppy in their work. None of them seem to have been prepared for the problems referred to above, especially regarding the likelihood that a folded ballot paper will be punctured from the top layer to the bottom.

Many voters thought that they simply had to make a puncture on the picture of a candidate, without ever thinking that they first had to unfold the paper.

I was the chairman of my local poll committee. Until the committee was dissolved, we never received any instruction from the KPU about the validity of a ballot paper. Perhaps, the KPU sent out this instruction, but it was much too late.
