Samsung to release slim phones

Aiming to move to the head of the pack, South Korean electronics firm Samsung will soon launch a series of slim cellular phones with an average thickness of less than 15 millimeters.

Samsung will release five types of slim cell phones equipped with features such as an MP3 music player, 1.3 mega pixel camera and bluetooth connectivity.

Two of the models will be equipped with 3G technology while the other three will still use GSM/GPRS technology.

According to the firm, the trend now is for cell phones to become slimmer and be equipped with wide screens.

All the cell phones will have 2.2-inch screens.

The products will be launched early next year.
