Samsung launches new handset

JAKARTA (JP): Korean-based electronics company PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia launched on Thursday its new handset, the Samsung SGH-2400.

The handphone uses two bandwidth technologies the GSM 900 and GSM 1800 and offers a large high resolution graphic LCD screen.

The company said that the new SGH-2400 had been appointed as one of the official communications devices to be used in the Sydney Olympics 2000.

Samsung said it would launch another five new mobile phones, the SGH A-100, SGH 2500, SGH A-200, Internet Phone and MP-3 Phone, in Indonesian market by the end of this year. (cst)
