Sampoerna offers scholarships
JAKARTA: The Sampoerna Foundation has announced it is providing scholarships to study in state universities for seven Indonesian students who won medals in international science competitions.
The scholarships will include admission fees, tuition fees for a maximum eight semesters, book allowances and money to cover their daily needs, the foundation's program director and alumni affairs, Eddy F. Henry said.
It will be the third year in a row the foundation providing scholarships for international science competition winners. Founded by cigarette giant Sampoerna in 2001, the foundation has awarded scholarships for 12,110 senior high school students, 1,000 junior high school students, 91 students pursuing bachelor degree at home, 93 students pursuing master degree at home and 10 students seeking master degree overseas as of March 2005. -- JP
