Salesman killed in traffic accident

TANGERANG: A salesman was killed on Tuesday when the driver of his vehicle lost control and hit the road fence about 50 meters from the Serpong toll gate heading into Kebon Nanas in Tangerang municipality.

The accident also seriously injured the driver and his assistant.

The victim, a salesman of Java Matches company, was identified as 48-year-old Kwok Kwek Feong alias Irwan, father of three children who lived in Perum Permata Hijau Permai, Babelan subdistrict of Bekasi.

His body was taken to Tangerang General Hospital morgue while the driver Edi Susanto, 21, a resident in Cilincing subdistrict, North Jakarta and his assistant who was still unidentified were rushed to Al Qadar Hospital in Karawaci.

Both of them were still unconscious at the hospital as of Tuesday afternoon.

According to Brig. Budi Sulistio of Tangerang traffic police unit, Edi, drove the car at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle as it went down an overpass after passing the toll gate. The car hit the road fence first, rolled down several times before it was finally halted by a tree right in front of the Kebon Nanas ice block factory, Budi said.--JP
