Sahwali Awards for Branta
JAKARTA: In line with its successes in a range of fields, PT Branta Mulia has so far collected four national-level awards from various institutions.
In 1991, Branta received the Sahwali Award from the Indonesian Environmental Management and Information Center (PIPLI) for its success in efficient waste management at its tire-cord plant. PIPLI is a non-government organization specializing in environmental matters.
In 1992, Branta received both the Upakarti and the Primaniyarta awards. The Upakarti was presented by President Soeharto to Branta for its adoption of three small fishing firms as its "foster children". Branta received the Primaniyarta from the trade minister in recognition of its success in boosting Indonesia's non-oil exports.
In 1995, Branta was awarded the Certificate for Services to Cooperatives and Small Entrepreneurs (Sertifikat Bakti Koperasi & Pengusaha Kecil) from Minister of Cooperatives and Small Enterprises Subiakto Tjakrawerdaya for the firm's accomplishments in the development of cooperatives and small business operations.
