S. Korean FM to meet President
JAKARTA (JP): Visiting South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Hong Soon-young who arrived here Tuesday evening is expected to meet President Abdurrahman Wahid and Vice President Megawati Soekarnoputri as a part of his three-day visit to Jakarta.
Before meeting with the two leaders, the minister will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Alwi Shihab on fostering practical cooperation between the two countries, including politics, economy and culture.
"They will also exchange views to further enhance collaboration in the international arena," the South Korean Embassy said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hong will also convey an official invitation for Abdurrahman to visit Seoul, as was agreed upon between the Indonesian President and Korean President Kim Dae-jung when they attended the ASEAN informal summit on Nov. 28. (prb)
