S. Korea leads Asian Nations Cup

CHEJU ISLAND, South Korea (Agencies): South Korea took a commanding seven stroke lead in the Johnie Walker Asian Nations Cup after the third round on Saturday.

Choi Gwang-soo and Park Nam-sin carded a fourball better ball score of 10-under par 62 a Pinx Golf Club for a tournament total of 22-under-par 194.

Thailand's Chawalit Plaphol and Thammanoon Sriroj, who carded a 65, trail in second while Hong Kong's Wilson Choy and Danny Kan lie third, four strokes further back.

With the top three nations qualifying for December's EMC World Cup in Argentina, Malaysia is in the hunt, three behind Hong Kong, while India is a stroke further back.

Korea, the defending champions, has led since day one by playing confident golf but they shifted up another gear in the Saturday's match. (nvn)
