Russia and NATO
Only Russia, which used to provide the Serb aggressors with unlimited military and moral support on all fronts, emerges as the only country dissatisfied with the punitive operation, jarring with the stands adopted by all other states.
Despite the continued raids on Bosnian Serb military targets, there are still no signs of Serb compliance with the UN terms.
At one time, the Serbs imagined that they could fool the international community into believing that they would meet UN demands and lift their back-breaking siege on the Bosnian capital. The Serb trick did not work out and the NATO raids were resumed.
On Friday, the three conflicting parties in the former Yugoslav Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina agreed on basic principles for peace in Bosnia. Under these principles, Bosnia's territorial integrity would be guaranteed while dividing the republic equally between Serbs and a Moslem-Croat alliance.
Hopefully, a final peace settlement will be reached in Bosnia to stop the 40-month Serb aggression and to halt an unprecedented campaign of ethnic cleansing, victimizing Bosnian Moslems.
