Rp 500m to repair apartments
JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta Mayoralty has budgeted Rp 500 million (US$50,000) to repair three low-cost apartment blocks in Tanah Tinggi, Karet Tengsin and Petamburan.
Mayoralty spokesman, Asbarani MK, told beritajakarta.com on Monday that the money for the project would come from the 2002 city budget.
The majority of the funds, Rp 400 million, will go to refurbish the 600-square-meter back wall of the Karet Tengsin apartment block.
"The repair work in Karet Tengsin will be focused on repairing (the back wall), as it was severely damaged during the three weeks of flooding that hit the capital in late January and early February," Asbarani said.
The Tanah Tinggi apartment block will receive Rp 50 million to put up fences, improve a 60-square-meter garden and extend a 340- square-meter water drain.
And the mayoralty is providing Rp 50 million for the Petamburan apartment block. The money will go to construct a 123- square-meter wall to prevent landslides in the riverbank area on the apartment grounds. -- JP
